The High Income trap: Is it really ?

We often see social media posts about people complaining that higher income does not give them the satisfaction they experienced in their younger years with little income. 

Is it really money's fault or just that the life and responsibilities make us feel trapped about it. 

I feel that money can be one of the best friends of a person who can help them get health, happiness and solve most of the problems in our lives. This is one thing that can come back to us even after throwing away all of it and still keep on serving us. 

The high income that is generally used for investment secures our future, our kids future, help us take care of our parents well. Most of us make donations and help the needy only we have surplus. Doesn't this make the hardwork worthwhile ?
